Research Interests

I have had several research interests since my first jump into the field of psychology as a discipline. My first area of interest was in the personality field, and this area still remains an interest to me; particularly individual differences that occur within personalities, and how we deal with these in social situations. My second area of interest focused around cognition and language. Specifically, I worked with my mentor in the area of language comprehension and how people draw inferences while they are reading short passages. Finally, my current area of interest fall into the realm of decision making, but particularly within the area of conscious versus unconscious decision making, and how personality plays a role in making decisions. My thesis ties the unconscious thought theory (Dijksterhuis & Nordgen, 2006) with the need for cognition personality trait.
